I find it hard to believe Marques Colston wasn't targeted in Game 2 Cleveland. What was the logic behind this? I find Drew Brees' behavior questionable, at best, sometimes. There is cleary a "political" quality to some of his choices on the field. That said, Drew Brees and the Saints deserved to lose!
It's all good, MC! Common sense tells us that was a planned play at the end of the Seahawks' game. Perhaps u became disoriented, in the midst of it, but it was poorly called from the start. It's too bad that thus far, ur the only one being held responsible for it. The same thing was done to Reggie Bush back in 2007- I think was... Anybody remember RB being made the scapegoat for that weird (to keep it clean) "reverse" play??? Keep your head up, Mr. Colston. Your 144 yards this game, not to mention everything else you've done to help your team throughout your career- all w/o being a diva- speak volumes!!! Relax, let roll off and get ready for next season!!! Congrats on all of your hard work this season! GO SAINTS!
hahaha... no, not Marques-not even close, but I'll take that as a compliment! I've heard through a variety of different folks, that he's an all-around decent dude. I'm just calling that "targets" situation like I see it. Bobby Hebert noticed it too and said so. Let's just hope the Saints get back to winning this week, and that they do it with integrity...
I agree that he's the best WR on the team. Had he gone elsewhere when he became a free agent, he would have been paid more & utilized more! Often amazed how "sports' writers" are quick to say this guy only has the stats that he has bc Drew Brees is throwing to him. He has an insane amount of skill that stands alone. If anything, he'd have even better numbers & stats with a team who spreads the ball around less. If he leaves the Saints, he'll go somewhere & shine, & help THAT team shine. He's going to be who he is regardless of who's throwing to him. That said, I didn't see all of last Sunday's game, but a good # of ppl say he was barely targeted. Saw game 2wks ago in its entirety. Dude was blocking like he should have been, running routes like he should have been & was even open in the end zone-clearly, only for the ball to be thrown elsewhere. Although he could have made more $ with another team, the Saints are still paying him a pretty penny, considering how frugal they tend to be. Is he not being
